Don't Worry Be Happy part 1

Whew! Take a deep breath..... now let it out! There you go. Doesn't that feel good! Wait...You didn't do it did you? And you know why? Because it seems like nothing works anymore. I know, because I hear about it daily from friends and family who deal with the same thing....Anxiety. This seems to be one of the loudest voices that plague most people. We are bombarded with life, and the chaos of other peoples lives. And we just don't know how to handle it. But let me tell you something that most don't know. You don't have to deal with it. Nor are you designed to deal with it. We were not created to carry burdens on our shoulders. This is an issue that most don't know how to address, because they think the answer requires ten doctorates from the top ivy league universities in order to understand. Yet the solution is simple if we were honest. We have allowed our minds to become a junk yard of negativity and doubt. GOd never intended us to live this way. I know this because there are many scriptures that talk about the condition of the mind. Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Proverbs 28:26 Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe. 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Romans 1:28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. We know that our biggest battle is against our thoughts. All the "what if's" or the "I should have done this or that", ya know those nagging thoughts that consume our minds and drive us up the wall. When we give our every day life over to the habits of this world we are in danger of falling prey to the way it works in every way. And if you haven't noticed, this worlds system isn't to make you better, but more dependent on it!

If you look on any social media outlet, or any news station, or network, you will see so much sorrow and pain. It is like a tidal wave of misery. But what you need to know is that it's not there for you to figure out! It's not there for you to solve. It's there for you to realize that time is precious. Life can be short and most of all People need a Savior! I recently asked both my boys, Nicholas 18 and Aiden 13, 'why do we worry?" Both of them looked at me like I just pulled a sock from my mouth...like, "I don't understand the question!" I was serious.. I told them that I am preparing to write a blog and I want your input. "Why do you worry or what are some things that you worry about?" They both sat there and really started to think. I made sure they knew there were no wrongs answers. Nicholas said, "I worry about doing something wrong at work and getting fired." WOW, My son already has an unnecessary burden on his shoulders. I told him that he shouldn't be worried if he was doing his job. Even if you were let go because of down sizing, God gave him that job and I'm pretty sure that He can provide him with another! He thought about that for a minute and it made sense. He was relieved at that truth. You could see on his face how that statement changed everything. Aiden chimed in and said, "It's because there are so many scary things in the world and I don't want it to happen to me or my family!" I told him that many people feel the same way, but do you believe that God protects those he loves? He said yes! Ok then, there are times when we should be concerned with the events in the world. But we are not to let it cripple us in fear. This is how the enemy of this world controls people. All the "what ifs"! If he can get us so wrapped up in never going to foreign lands because of what we see on the news, and if he can keep us in fear of talking to our neighbor because of that .0000001% chance they might be a serial killer then he's won. He's kept us from going and making disciples and loving those around us that need to hear the gospel of Christ. When we allow anxiety control our lives we are putting a barricade not only between us and our God given calling but also between us and His blessings. We are saying "I have more faith in my fear of the unknown than Your promise to give me hope for my future". I don't want to sound flippant about true mental disorders. I genuinely take this subject very seriously. I just want you to know that this is something that you can break free from! I want for you to get the scripture Philippians 4:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Deep inside your heart so that you can live a victorious life . You can get through this! You can live in the freedom that you long for! That overwhelming flood of peace that passes all your understanding can be a daily experience in your life.

So this is what I want you to do. I want you to pray these words: Lord, forgive me for not trusting your word. I surrender all my mind, my soul, and my strength to you! I want to live the life that you have planned out for me since before I was born. The plan to prosper me not to harm me, to give me hope for my future! Thank you for giving me hope. I lay my anxiety at your feet. I receive the price you paid for on the cross. Thank you for taking all my infirmities and breaking the curse of sin and death for my sake! Right now, I rebuke the spirit of fear over my mind and heart. I thank you for the spirit of love, power and a sound mind. Give me the words to speak over my life so that I can stand strong. I want to live my life free from the bondage of anxiety. You are my rock! You are my Lord and God! I worship you and dedicate my life to living in Your will! In Jesus Mighty Name Amen! If you prayed that prayer you are done! You are free. Don't let the enemy tell you otherwise!
