1 John 5:14 ~ This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
I get asked all the time for scriptures and for prayer. Like I stated in the first blog, I believe that prayer is the most important weapon we have in our arsenal. When we pray we tap into the realm of heaven and we have the honor to experience an audience with the throne room of God. This is a honor that we have as believers, but unfortunately most of us don't know how to approach the throne and/or how to do it effectively. This makes me think of the account of Queen Esther. When she was contemplating asking her king/husband for an audience to plead for the life of her people. She knew that she had to do it just right. But the fear of who he was overwhelmed her, and the fear of him finding out who SHE was caused her to keep rescheduling. It wasn't until things became truly grave that she summoned up the courage to approach her king with her time sensitive request.
Does this sound familiar? You're surrounded by a situation that is beyond your control, and instead of approaching the throne in confidence you back down and reschedule. Just remember that procrastination and timidity isn't the way to the heart of God. The most important thing we need to get a hold of as believers is how God the Father sees US!
1 John 5:15 ~ And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we can have what we asked of him.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
When you pray, don't allow your anxieties to consume you. Keeping you from your purpose. Keeping you from your place in the eyes of the King. Fill yourself up with the Word before you bring your request for help to The King of Kings.
Why did Esther have such an issue with approaching her husband and king? Some would say she feared him. Some would say that she knew the protocol and wanted to honor his authority. Some would say she was scared to be found out as a Jew and didn't want to die. I believe it was all the above. But once she got over all the "what if's" and fears, she finally saw herself for who she really was in the eyes of the king. And by King I mean the King of Kings. She knew she was a child of the most high, a called, set apart one, for such a time as this. This was the exact time to make her request known to her king. For us I believe we take audience to our fears instead of resting in the peace of the presence of God the Father. We forget that God sees us how he created us to be and he wants, longs to hear our voice directed to Him. He wants us to turn off all the sounds of the world around us and lean in and speak to Him. We have to understand something, something that Esther didn't until she finally spoke to her King. Your position in the eyes of the Kings is all that matters. Esther was loved and adored by her king. He would move heaven and earth to guarantee her safety. She was Queen! She forgot who she was! When we are timid and and fearful we forget who we are too. Jesus's prayer for us was John 17: 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.. That close relationship is mountain moving! It's people freeing! It's chain breaking! And it is our inheritance. At first Esther couldn't see herself the way the king saw her, but once she did he obedience saved her people. We tend to forget that God sees us with loving eyes. And even though we need to fear Him as King. We need to understand how to approach Him and that we can. We need to understand that it doesn't matter who we were, but who we are now in the eyes of the Father.
You, like Esther were placed in this time line for such a time as this. To pray for your family, your community, your state, your nation. You are a child of the Most High and He wants you to approach the throne and pray with mountain moving faith. Make your request known!!! Don't back down!
Knowing the word of God opens up the door for us to see ourselves through His eyes and make our request made known to Him. Studying His word, shows us how to approach Him, how to see ourselves, and how to see Him. We will be filled with a heart of love for our King. This is how you have a successful prayer life. This is how you move forward in your walk with Him. Prayer is our tool, it's our pathway, it takes us from the outer courts and into His gates with thanksgiving in our heart. This study in a very extensive study. I know I am just skimming the surface. I wanted to make sure to lay the ground work of how important the relationship between us and God is when we pray. Studying His word the Key to it all. I am excited to dig deeper in this study with you over the next few blogs
